Gu Xiaojie Met with Governor of Kano State Abdullahi Umar Ganduje

On July 30, Chinese Ambassador Gu Xiaojie met in Abuja with H.E. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, newly-elected Governor of Kano State, and exchanged views on state to province cooperation between China and Nigeria.

Gu Xiaojie congratulated H.E. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on his election and inauguration, and pointed out that Kano State, as the centre of commerce in the northern part of Nigeria, is at the forefront of cooperation with China. In the days ahead, the Chinese side wishes to make joint efforts with Kano State to deepen pragmatic cooperation, and enhance people-to-people exchanges to promote the province-to-state cooperation, and requests that Kano State take practical measures to protect the legal interests of Chinese citizens and companies.

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje introduced his vision for the development planning of Kano State, said that Kano State enjoys profound traditional friendship with China with the Chinese Bilingual School in Kano city as a good example, and wishes to strengthen mutually beneficial pragmatic cooperation, to create a safe and easy business environment and to take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate interests of the Chinese side.
