On July 13, Chinese Ambassador Gu Xiaojie met in Abuja with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H.E. Bulus Z.Lolo, and exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

Gu Xiaojie pointed out that, through the joint efforts of both sides, China-Nigeria relations have maintained good momentum of growth, and bilateral pragmatic cooperation has achieved fruitful results in various fields. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership, and the next year will witness the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Both sides should take these opportunities to strengthen the top-level design, promote comprehensive cooperation and bring the bilateral relations to a new high.

Bulus Z.Lolo said that Nigeria and China have enjoyed political mutual trust and economic mutual benefit, and China is a valuable partner to Nigeria. The Nigerian side attaches great importance to Nigeria-China relations, and is willing to join hand-in-hand with China to strengthen traditional friendship, deepen pragmatic cooperation and enhance people-to-people exchanges.
