On 3 March 2005, a Chinese Photo Exhibition, "Focus on China", was held in Kano. H.E. Mr. Wang Yongqiu, Ambassador of China to Nigeria, and H.E. Mr. Magaji Abdullahi, Deputy Governor of Kano State, were present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition. Ambassador Wang, in his congratulatory message, said that 100 photos shown at the exhibition would give his Nigerian friends a better picture of China's economic development, its culture and people, and would help enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples. Deputy Governor Magaji, on behalf of Governor Shekarau, said the State Government would arrange local people all over the State to visit the exhibition. More than 500 people witnessed the opening ceremony.

Prior to the opening ceremony, Ambassador Wang met with the Deputy Governor and discussed trade and culture exchanges between China and Kano State.

In Kano, Ambassador Wang also attended at a business dinner organized by Kano business community. He encouraged the businessmen to make further contribution to strengthen the trade tie between China and Nigeria, and said that the Chinese Embassy would offer them all necessary service.
